Gandzasar and Ararat start the season with a 1-1 draw

In the opening match of the 2025/26 Armenian Premier League season, Gandzasar and Ararat played out a 1-1 draw. American forward Luke Merrill opened the scoring for the hosts, but Moussa Kante equalized to earn the visitors a point.

The first round of the championship will continue tomorrow with the BKMA vs Urartu match.

Seven newcomers made their debut for Gandzasar in this match: Taron Vokanyan, Petros Avetisyan, Narek Alaverdyan, Levon Petrosyan, Yevgeni Guletsky, Arman Khachatryan, and Patvakan Avetisyan.

Ararat also presented a refreshed lineup. Abdul Karim Djire, Patrick Handzongo, Yaya Sogodobo, Arthur Kartashyan, as well as returning players Arthur Grigoryan and Arman Hovhannisyan all featured for the team.
