18-year-old gymnast of the Armenian national team, Hamlet Manukyan, won the fifth stage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup held in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
Manukyan delivered the best performance in the pommel horse final, scoring 14.700 points, surpassing his closest rivals and securing the gold medal. This marks the talented Armenian’s second consecutive victory in World Cup stages.
The silver medal went to China’s Yangmin Hong, who trailed by just 0.034 points with a score of 14.666, while the bronze was claimed by Kazakhstan’s Nariman Kurbanov with 14.566 points.
Another Armenian representative, Mamikon Khachatryan, also reached the pommel horse final and placed seventh with a score of 13.166.
Today, Armenian gymnasts Vaagn Davtyan and Artur Avetisyan will also compete in the rings final.
