Former Krasnodar forward and Eduard Spertsyan’s teammate, Fyodor Smolov, spoke about the possible departure of the Armenian midfielder from the club.
Speaking on his SMOL FM show, Smolov highlighted Spertsyan’s high level in set-pieces and noted that they have long discussed this aspect of the game:
“He takes corners and free-kicks very well. Edik and I often talk about this topic, he is interested in my opinion. When you show his free-kick goals, everyone is surprised: who is he playing with? But the problem is that almost nobody follows the Russian league, and on international platforms like InStat, the necessary highlights are missing,” Smolov said.
According to him, he would support Spertsyan if he decides to continue his career outside of Russia:
“He is 25 years old, the right age for a new step. If he wants to leave, I will completely understand and support him. Everything depends on Sergey Galitsky’s position.”
Earlier it was reported that English club Southampton offered Krasnodar €14 million for Spertsyan’s transfer, but the club has not yet made a final decision.
