Spectacular battle at the U17 European Championship: Armenian and Moldovan wrestlers scored 44 points!

A real storm of emotions erupted in the quarterfinal of the U17 European Wrestling Championship in the freestyle 55 kg category. Armen Papikyan of Armenia and Sergiu Stanila of Moldova had an unprecedentedly high-scoring bout, collecting 44 points in just 4 minutes — 23:21 in favor of the Armenian wrestler.
Papikyan had a rough start and was trailing 0:8, but he showed incredible determination and made a stunning comeback to snatch victory from his opponent. In the semifinal, he will face Ruslan Alizade of Azerbaijan.
Two more Armenian wrestlers also reached the semifinals:
Laert Movsesyan (up to 110 kg),
Artak Agabekyan (up to 48 kg).
Armenia’s juniors continue to delight fans with their spectacular performances at the European Championships.
