Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Eric Ter-Matevosyan (87 kg) claimed a bronze medal at the 2025 U20 World Championships. In the match for third place, Ter-Matevosyan defeated Finnish athlete Elias Lyyuski with a score of 1-1 (by criteria of the first action).

Thus, the Armenian national team finished the World Championships with four medals:

  • Gaspar Terteryan (72 kg) — Gold

  • Yurik Mkhitaryan (60 kg) — Silver

  • Alex Margaryan (63 kg) — Silver

  • Eric Ter-Matevosyan (87 kg) — Bronze

This result once again highlights the strength of Armenia’s youth Greco-Roman wrestling school.
