April 11, Montreal — 21-year-old Armenian boxer Erik Israyelyan (1-0) successfully launched his professional career with an early victory over Hungary’s Richard Bernath (0-2) at the Eye of The Tiger Management tournament.
Israyelyan, who previously represented Armenia in youth and junior national teams, immediately took control of the fight and knocked out his opponent in the first round. The bout ended within minutes, showcasing the debutant’s aggressive style and punching power.
Erik is a former European and World Junior Champion (U18) but has yet to break into the senior national team, opting instead to turn pro. His debut signals serious ambitions in professional boxing.
Israyelyan is expected to continue fighting under the banner of the Canadian promotional company, which highly values his potential.
