In 2025, 22-year-old Armenian tennis player Elina Avanesyan is making a significant breakthrough in professional tennis. For the first time in her career, the athlete has reached the elite WTA top 40, securing the 39th spot—a major milestone on her path to sporting success.
This year, Elina managed to participate in nine WTA series tournaments, which attests to her rapid rise and confidence on the court. Every performance has contributed to her successful progression in the global tennis rankings. For example, at the tournament in Merd, she reached the semifinals by winning three convincing matches, which not only helped her solidify her status but also demonstrated consistency and a high level of skill. Similar success was achieved at the tournament in Khobarte, where the tennis player reached the quarterfinals, also winning three matches.
Elina’s previous highest ranking was 43, achieved in October 2024.
