Yeghishe Melikyan to undergo medical examination after concerning episode during Montenegro match

Armenia national team head coach Yeghishe Melikyan plans to undergo a medical examination following an incident late in the Nations League match against Montenegro (2-3), journalist Suren Meliksetyan has reported.

The concerning moment was captured during the television broadcast. In the 84th minute, with the score tied at 2-2, the camera showed Melikyan crouching near the technical area. The coach was holding his chest and, judging by the footage, appeared to be in pain.

A short time later, Melikyan was once again moving actively around the technical area and continued giving instructions to his players. Nevertheless, the footage caused concern among many viewers.

According to Meliksetyan, the episode was noticed by Jonel Désiré, a former player for clubs in the Armenian championship who now lives in the United States. He was watching the match live and, after seeing the incident, contacted the journalist and asked him to make sure the coach was all right and, if necessary, arrange immediate medical assistance.

Fortunately, the situation did not require emergency intervention during the match. However, Meliksetyan later learned that Yeghishe Melikyan intends to undergo a medical examination to check his health following the incident.

As a reminder, Armenia lost 2-3 to Montenegro in the second round of the Nations League. Melikyan's team came from behind twice but conceded the decisive goal in the 89th minute. After the match, the coach attended the press conference and answered journalists' questions in detail.
