Midfielder of the Armenia national team and Russia’s FC Krasnodar, Eduard Spertsyan, has been named Armenia’s Footballer of the Year for 2025. He received 17 votes in the poll, finishing well ahead of his rivals.
In the past year, the 25-year-old Spertsyan became one of the key players of the national team, scoring 5 goals for Armenia. At club level, he also achieved a historic milestone — winning the Russian championship with Krasnodar for the first time in his career.
Interestingly, Spertsyan’s main competition came from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who received 8 votes. However, votes for the experienced midfielder came exclusively from Armenian Premier League clubs, UEFA representatives, and Fast Media. The majority of media outlets favored Spertsyan.
This award is the second in Eduard’s career. He was first named Armenia’s Footballer of the Year in 2022, after which Mkhitaryan won the title in both 2023 and 2024. Now, Spertsyan has once again confirmed his status as one of the leaders of Armenian football.
