In early January, Armenia national team and FC Krasnodar captain Eduard Spertsyan made a gesture that went far beyond the football pitch. The midfielder personally visited 8-year-old Dima from the village of Starominskaya in Russia’s Krasnodar region, a beneficiary of the charity foundation “Kray Dobra.”
The boy has a rare condition — Ullrich muscular dystrophy — which prevents him from walking. But, as his family says, there is something stronger than any diagnosis: a dream. Dima had long dreamed of meeting his idol, Eduard Spertsyan, and this year that dream came true.
On January 3, Dima’s home was filled with real magic. Together with partners from the SSK company, the footballer brought financial support for rehabilitation courses, gifts, and most importantly — personal interaction. Spertsyan did not limit himself to a formal visit: he played football with the boy, standing in goal, and later they faced off in a game of FIFA. The match was intense, ending 6–5 in Eduard’s favor, but emotions mattered more than the score.

In 2025, Spertsyan became an ambassador for SSK, and this story became a symbol of the fact that for the Krasnodar captain, it is not just a title but real involvement in charitable work — compassion, support, and faith in miracles.
The footballer later shared his impressions on social media:
“Yesterday I made a new friend! His name is Dima. I tried to fulfill his New Year’s wish by visiting him. Now I’m waiting for him to visit us in return — at the stadium for our first home match after the break.”
Eduard Spertsyan’s act is a reminder that true captains lead not only on the pitch but beyond it, proving that dreams truly find those who are ready to make them come true.
