Edmen Shahbazyan scores dominant win over Petroski at UFC Fight Night in Atlanta

On June 15 in Atlanta, Armenian fighter Edmen Shahbazyan (15-5) secured a dominant unanimous decision victory over American Andre Petroski (13-5) at UFC Fight Night.

This marks the second consecutive win for the “Golden Boy,” his eighth in the UFC, and only the second in his career by decision — Shahbazyan has typically finished fights early. With this win, he silenced doubts about his endurance and ability to control a fight over all three rounds.

Petroski came into the bout on a three-fight win streak and was considered one of the top grapplers in the middleweight division. However, the 27-year-old Shahbazyan looked strong in all areas of the fight, dominated in striking, defended takedowns effectively, and came close to finishing the bout in the final moments.

Now, after such a confident performance, Edmen could be in line for a fight against a top-15 ranked UFC middleweight.
