Diego Lopes named official backup for Topuria vs Gaethje at UFC White House instead of Tsarukyan

UFC fighter Diego Lopes has officially been named the backup for the main event of the UFC White House card between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje.

Lopes weighed in again at 154 pounds, confirming his readiness to step in if one of the participants in the title fight is unable to compete.

Arman Tsarukyan was originally expected to serve as the backup fighter for the main event. However, the Armenian fighter is scheduled to compete in Real American Freestyle on the same dates. On the night of June 13-14, Tsarukyan will face Tony Ferguson at RAF 10 in St. Louis.

At the same time, Diego Lopes is also part of the UFC White House fight card. He is scheduled to face Steve Garcia in a featherweight bout. Therefore, Lopes remains both a participant in his own fight and a backup option for the main event of the evening.

The UFC White House event will take place overnight from Sunday to Monday. The card is scheduled to begin at 03:00 Moscow time.
