Davit Khachatryan — U16 European Champion in Shooting with a Record

Armenian shooter Davit Khachatryan won the gold medal at the U16 European Championship in the 10m air rifle event.

The tournament, which kicked off today in Burgas, Bulgaria, is held for U16 and U18 age categories. Khachatryan scored 414.7 points, setting a new European record in his age group.

Second place went to Laurynas Macionis of Lithuania with 413.8 points, and the bronze medal was claimed by Turkey’s Sahin Yilmaz with 412.0 points.

Other Armenian athletes also participated in the event. In the “10m air pistol, solo” discipline, the results were:

Hayk Sargsyan (U18) — 9th place
Armen Gevorgyan (U18) — 25th place
Artash Amiryán (U16) — 13th place

The European Championship for U16 and U18 athletes will continue until February 9, after which the U21 competition will begin.
