Daniel Hambardzumov, the 18-year-old forward of Armenia’s youth national team, continues to shine for Krasnodar U19 in the Russian Youth League.
After 11 matches, the Armenian footballer already has 10 goals and 9 assists to his name. This means Hambardzumov is currently both the top scorer and the leading assist provider of the tournament, confirming his status as one of the most promising players in Krasnodar’s system.
Daniel was especially impressive in his latest match against Pari NN. Krasnodar U19 claimed a dominant 9-2 victory, and Hambardzumov was one of the main heroes of the game: he scored a hat-trick and added two assists.
The Armenian forward had already made a strong statement earlier this season. After four rounds, he had 4 goals and 5 assists, including the winning goal and an assist in the match against Zenit U19, where Krasnodar defeated one of the league leaders 3-2.
Hambardzumov has been showing consistent productivity not only at club level, but also with Armenia’s youth national team. In the UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying mini-tournament, he started all three matches, scored one goal and provided two assists. Armenia did not lose a single match in that campaign, drawing with Kosovo and Turkey and also crushing Gibraltar 9-0.
Daniel has been part of the Krasnodar system since early childhood and has already achieved notable success at academy level. Among his achievements are winning the Youth Football League-3, the RFU Cup, the RFU Cup top scorer award, as well as individual awards within the academy.
In terms of playing style, Hambardzumov is a quick attacking wide player who actively takes on opponents, creates danger inside the penalty area and is effective both in finishing and in supporting attacks. He also takes part in set-piece situations, including corners and free kicks.
With such statistics, the question is being raised more and more often: has Daniel Hambardzumov already earned a chance in Krasnodar’s first team next season?
Considering his current form, productivity and steady progress, a move to the next level looks like a logical step. Especially if Krasnodar look for internal reserves and give more playing time to academy graduates. For Armenian fans, Hambardzumov’s appearance in the first team could become another important story after Eduard Spertsyan.
