Dagestan defeats Ossetia in freestyle wrestling match meeting in Kaspiysk

Team Dagestan defeated the team of North Ossetia-Alania in a freestyle wrestling match meeting held on May 23 in Kaspiysk. The final score of the contest was 8–2 in favor of the Dagestani wrestlers.

The event brought together a strong lineup of participants. Representatives of the leading wrestling schools of the two republics took to the mat, along with athletes who compete internationally for other countries. Among them were Azamat Tuskaev, who represents Serbia, and Taimuraz Salkazanov, who competes for Slovakia.

Despite Dagestan’s overall success, North Ossetia-Alania managed to claim two impressive victories. Zaurbek Sidakov defeated Imam Ganishov in the 74 kg weight category, while Artur Naifonov proved stronger than Amanula Rasulov at 86 kg.

One of the most notable bouts of the meeting was the clash between Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev and Alan Bagaev. Sadulaev earned a confident 14–1 victory and secured another point for Dagestan.
