Crvena Zvezda sell Nair Tiknizyan’s positional rival

A major change has taken place at the Serbian giants: Nair Tiknizyan’s main competitor for the left-back position has left the club. Ghana international defender Ebenezer Annan has joined French Ligue 2 side Saint-Étienne for €2 million — a fee higher than the amount paid for Tiknizyan at the time.

This season, the 22-year-old Ghanaian has played just 16 minutes, with most of the left-back minutes going to the Armenia national team player.

Today, August 9, in the Serbian SuperLiga, Crvena Zvezda defeated Bačka Topola 1–0, fielding a reserve squad to rest their key players ahead of the UEFA Champions League second leg against Lech. In this match, Tiknizyan’s place was taken by 17-year-old Adem Avdić, who is likely to be his main backup during the season.
