2025 U17 Judo World Championships, Day 1 Results

On August 27, 2025, the U17 Judo World Championships kicked off in Sofia, Bulgaria. On the first day of the tournament, finals were held in four weight categories: 50 and 55 kg for boys, and 40 and 44 kg for girls.

Team Armenia was represented by Narek Davtyan (50 kg), Vahe Hovhannisyan (55 kg), and Shavarsh Nahapetyan (55 kg), but they did not reach the podium. Davtyan and Napetyan secured one victory each, while Ohanyan lost in his opening match.

Three athletes from Uzbekistan and one girl from Russia became world champions.

50 kg (boys):

3. Arman Myssa (Kazakhstan) and Anar Guliyev (Azerbaijan)

55 kg (boys):

1. Khushnudbek Burkhonov (Uzbekistan)

2. Matteo Gualandi (Italy)

3. Adris Jakubauskas (Lithuania) and Alexey Toptygin (Russia)

40 kg (girls):

1. Dilafruz Boltaboeva (Uzbekistan)

2. Suma Nur Yuksel (Turkey)

3. Khulan Bayarzul (Mongolia) and Fenne Pieters (Belgium)

44 kg (girls):

1. Nadezhda Mishenkina (Russia)

2. Livanur Kayir (Turkey)

3. Zi-Yu Yang (Taiwan) and Sandra Walendzik (Poland)

On August 28, medal contests will be held in the boys’ 60 and 66 kg, and the girls’ 48 and 52 kg categories.
