On December 11, the European U21 Taekwondo Championship kicked off in Kosovo. On the first day, medals were contested in four women’s weight categories.

Gold medals were won by athletes from Italy, Russia, Greece, and Turkey.

The Armenian national team is also participating in the tournament. On December 12, two Armenian athletes will compete: David Muradyan (54 kg) and Max Melikyan (63 kg).

Results of the First Day of the European U21 Taekwondo Championship

Women, 46 kg:

  1. Alisa Angelova (Russia)
  2. Giulia Galiero (Italy)
  3. Elisa Bertagnin (Italy) & Sofia Hinic (Croatia)

Women, 53 kg:

  1. Anna Frassica (Italy)
  2. Veronika Levakova (Russia)
  3. Alicia Alonso (Spain) & Sayin Krim (France)

Women, 67 kg:

  1. Styliani Marentaki (Greece)
  2. Nefeli Nte Reke Mourkousi (Greece)
  3. Andreja Berishaj (Montenegro) & Alba Murillo (Spain)

Women, +73 kg:

  1. Sude Uzuncavdar (Turkey)
  2. Zehra Kavukcuoglu (Turkey)
  3. Magdalena Matic (Croatia) & Lorena Zanko (Croatia)

On December 12, medals will be contested in four men’s weight categories: 54, 63, 80, and 87 kg.
