Armenian boxers Nikolai and Sebastian Terteryan will compete on the same boxing card for the first time in their professional careers on August 22. The event will take place in Santa Monica, California.

The 25-year-old twin brothers are regarded as promising fighters by Golden Boy Promotions. Oscar De La Hoya’s promotional company plans to actively build the Terteryans’ profiles in Southern California, home to a large Armenian community.

“Golden Boy really wants to promote us throughout Southern California because they know our Armenian fans will support us. Golden Boy’s plan, as well as the vision of our manager Rick Mirigian, is completely aligned with what we want to achieve. It resonated with us, and we are pursuing our ambitions and working to make our dreams a reality,” Sebastian Terteryan told The Ring.

According to the boxer, the brothers expect to reach championship level within a relatively short period of time.

“We are incredibly proud to raise the red, blue and orange flag while representing Armenia. We believe we can be ready to fight for a world title within 15 fights and three years. There is no doubt about that, and Oscar De La Hoya agrees as well. Golden Boy believes in us,” Sebastian said.

Nikolai Terteryan also emphasized that one of the brothers’ main goals at this stage is to gain the necessary professional experience and quickly move up the rankings.

“We want to get the experience we need and move up the ladder quickly. We are happy with where we are right now and are looking forward to improving our results and building serious momentum toward fighting for a world title. It would be incredible if two twin brothers of Armenian descent became reigning world champions,” Nikolai said.

The Terteryans come from a boxing family. Their father, Tigran Terteryan, who died in 2020 at the age of 50, competed as a heavyweight and represented the Armenian national team. He also lived in Denmark during his amateur career.

At the August 22 boxing event in Santa Monica, Nikolai Terteryan, who holds a 3-0 professional record, will face Christian Perez Hernandez (12-5-1). The bout is scheduled for six rounds.

Sebastian Terteryan (1-0) will compete in a four-round bout against Josias Gonzalez (2-7-2).

Thus, for the first time since turning professional, the Terteryan brothers will step into the ring on the same card as they continue their pursuit of their ultimate goal — world championship belts.
