24-year-old twin brothers Nikolai and Sebastian Terteryan are officially turning professional, signing a multi-year contract with one of the most influential boxing promotion companies in the world — Golden Boy Promotions, founded by legendary champion Oscar De La Hoya.
The brothers were born in Armenia. Their father, Tigran Terteryan, is a former member of the Armenian national boxing team. The family later moved to Denmark, where all three sons began boxing. The eldest, Marcel, currently competes in professional MMA, while Nikolai and Sebastian represented Denmark in amateur boxing.
Nikolai Terteryan is the 2023 European Games champion and participated in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, reaching the quarterfinals. Sebastian, who competed in the non-Olympic 75 kg weight class, did not qualify for the Games but won the 2024 Nordic Championship and took bronze at the prestigious 2023 Strandja Cup.
Now, the twins are ready to take over the professional ring. Their coach is Jamie Robinson, and their manager is renowned Armenian-American Rick Mirigian, named by Forbes as one of the most influential figures in boxing.
In a joint statement, the brothers said:
“It’s Official – We’ve Signed with Golden Boy Promotions!
Golden Boy is one of the greatest promotional companies in the world, having represented legends like Canelo Álvarez, Bernard Hopkins, Ryan Garcia.
Oscar De La Hoya’s vision aligns perfectly with our ambitions.
We’re also thrilled to announce that we’ve signed with top manager Rick Mirigian.
We were elite amateurs — European champions, Olympians — and now, with our coach Jamie Robinson, it’s time: Terteryan Takeover!”
The contract with Golden Boy is set for five years, with each brother expected to fight five times per year.
Their professional debut is scheduled for July 12 in Fresno, California. Opponents will be announced later.
