Borussia Mönchengladbach advance to the DFB-Pokal Round of 32, Ranos featured in the match

On August 17, Borussia Mönchengladbach played their first official match of the new season. In the DFB-Pokal first round, Gerardo Seoane’s team defeated fifth-division side Delmenhorst 3–2.

Robin Hack scored a brace for Borussia, while Nico Elvedi added another goal.

Armenia national team forward Grant-Leon Ranos came on in the 89th minute. The 22-year-old striker managed to deliver one key pass during his short time on the pitch.

The new Bundesliga season kicks off on August 24: in the opening round, Borussia Mönchengladbach will face newly promoted Hamburg.
