Borussia Mönchengladbach Suffer Heavy Defeat to Hoffenheim, Ranos Again Left Without Playing Time

Borussia Mönchengladbach suffered a heavy defeat to Hoffenheim in the 17th round of the Bundesliga. The match ended with a 5:1 scoreline. The main hero of the game was Andrej Kramarić, who scored a hat-trick. Lemperle and Mørstedt also found the net for the hosts. The only goal for Gladbach was scored by Suto Matino.

Armenia national team forward Grant-Leon Ranos, 22, was once again included in the matchday squad but did not appear on the pitch. A similar situation occurred in the previous round against Augsburg, where 17-year-old Wael Mohya received playing time instead of the Armenian striker.

After the heavy defeat, Borussia Mönchengladbach sit in 10th place in the Bundesliga standings.

The lack of playing time may prompt Ranos to consider a club change during the winter transfer window. Notably, the forward did not play a single minute in a friendly match during the team’s winter training camp in Turkey, becoming the only one among 24 players who did not feature in the test match.
