Fan breaks through to Armenia players as Ronaldo pushes away supporter: incidents before the match

On September 5, a day before the Armenia–Portugal match in Yerevan, both amusing and tense episodes unfolded.

At noon, in the hotel where the Portuguese national team was staying, a fan persistently tried to take a photo with Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the captain of Portugal firmly stopped the attempt by simply pushing the supporter away.

Later in the evening, during Armenia’s national team training, a young fan unexpectedly ran onto the pitch. Security staff quickly restrained him, but the incident amused the players and team personnel.

The Football Federation of Armenia the same day reminded journalists about accreditation rules: a badge may only be used by the person to whom it was issued. Violation of this rule had previously led to stricter police control.

“Dear colleagues, we ask you tomorrow, during the Armenia–Portugal match, not to repeat such attempts, to respect each other’s work, and to remember: a badge may only be used by the person to whom it was issued,” the Federation’s statement read.
