Pregnant Elmira Karapetyan Wins Silver at the European Championship in Yerevan

Armenian athlete and Olympic participant Elmira Karapetyan won a silver medal at the 2026 European Shooting Championship held in Yerevan.

The achievement is particularly significant as Karapetyan competed at her home tournament while being seven months pregnant. Despite this, she demonstrated outstanding preparation, composure, and skill, earning a place on the podium.

The athlete finished second in the non-Olympic discipline 10m Air Pistol Solo Women.

In a tense final, Karapetyan was defeated by Hungary’s Veronika Major, who became the European champion.
