Tigran Barseghyan continues his scoring run in the Slovak championship. The Armenian midfielder found the net for the third match in a row for Slovan Bratislava.
In the penultimate round of the Slovak league season, Slovan, already crowned national champions, defeated Podbrezová 2-1 away from home. The match took place on May 9 at the ZELPO Arena in Podbrezová.
The hosts took the lead, but Slovan managed to get back into the game. Tigran Barseghyan equalized with an accurate strike using his weaker right foot. For the 32-year-old Armenia international, this was already his third goal in the last three matches.
VIDEO OF THE GOAL:
Barseghyan now has 11 goals in the current season. The Armenian midfielder is enjoying a strong finish to the campaign and once again confirms his status as one of the key players in Slovan’s attacking line.
There was also an Armenian presence in Podbrezová’s squad. Armenia U21 midfielder David Hakobyan started for the hosts and spent 62 minutes on the pitch.
After this victory, Slovan continued their title-winning finish to the season on a positive note. The Bratislava club had already secured the championship, but even after that, they have not slowed down in the final rounds of the Slovak league.
