Hasmik Avagyan has been appointed Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia. She will be responsible for coordinating the sports sector. In other words, she will take over the position previously held by Karen Giloyan, who recently left his post and now works at the international organization WADA.
Asmik Avagyan holds a PhD in Pedagogical Sciences and is a specialist in physical education and coaching. She has worked as a lecturer at the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, served as the head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, and held the position of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the institute.
