26-year-old FC Noah midfielder Artyom Avanesyan returned to the pitch after a severe injury suffered in January 2025.
The player was injured in a friendly match against Saint Petersburg’s Zenit during the team’s preparations for the restart of the 2024/25 season. The injury kept him out of the second half of the previous championship as well as the beginning of the current 2025/26 season.
However, on September 24, Avanesyan finally stepped back onto the field — he came on in the 69th minute of the match against Van, where Noah claimed a 2-1 victory.
After the game, the midfielder couldn’t hide his emotions:
“Probably today I am the happiest person on the planet. I am immensely grateful to everyone — from the president to the very last person involved in my recovery process. Thanks also to Arman. Of course, I’m grateful to my family, who patiently endured everything I went through. I’m very happy that after 7.5 months I returned and celebrated a victory with the team,” said Artyom Avanesyan.
Artyom is a very versatile player. Last season, he played in different roles: winger, central midfielder, attacking midfielder, and even full-back. However, his main position is attacking midfielder. His return will add flexibility and depth to Noah’s squad, which is especially important when competing on two fronts.
On October 2, Noah will play their first UEFA Conference League match against Croatia’s Rijeka.
