Odesa’s Chornomorets have officially announced the signing of midfielder Artur Avagimyan. This marks the footballer’s third return to the “Sailors” — he previously represented the club in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024. During that time, the midfielder made 98 official appearances and scored 18 goals.
Artur Avagimyan was born on January 16, 1997, in Mariupol. He took his first steps in football at Mariupol’s Illichivets and is a product of Shakhtar Donetsk’s academy. He played for Shakhtar’s youth and reserve teams and also featured for FC Mariupol, Arsenal Kyiv, Armenian side Alashkert, Oleksandriya, and LNZ Cherkasy.
The current season has been difficult for the 29-year-old Armenian midfielder: he played just one league match and two Ukrainian Cup matches for LNZ.
Now Avagimyan will once again try to help Chornomorets achieve their competitive goals. He already has successful experience with the Odesa side in the First League — in the 2020/21 season he was part of the squad that earned promotion to the Premier League.
