Armenian Olympic champion and multiple-time world champion Artur Aleksanyan will take part in the upcoming 2025 World Wrestling Championships, which will be held in Croatia from September 13 to 21.

Earlier, it was reported that Hayk Khloyan was supposed to represent Armenia in the 97 kg weight class, as his name appeared on the official list of participants published by UWW (United World Wrestling).

However, the Wrestling Federation of Armenia issued an official statement, stressing that the lists published by the international federation are preliminary and not final.

“The fact that the International Wrestling Federation announced preliminary line-ups for the 2025 World Championships does not mean that these are the final lists. We also consider it necessary to inform that Artur Aleksanyan will take part in the 2025 World Championships,” the statement of the Wrestling Federation of Armenia reads.

Thus, the main leader of Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestling team will continue his fight for a fifth title and will try once again to reach the highest step of the world podium.

The full line-up of the Armenian wrestling team can be found HERE.
