Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan has withdrawn from the bronze medal bout at the 2025 European Wrestling Championship. Due to an injury, the 7-time European champion will be unable to compete for a medal and will finish the tournament in Bratislava in fifth place.
In the semifinals, Aleksanyan lost to Bulgaria’s Kiril Milov. In the bronze medal match, he was scheduled to face Hungary’s Alex Szőke. However, since Aleksanyan will not appear on the mat, Szőke will automatically be awarded the bronze medal.
Today, representing the Armenian national team, Samvel Grigoryan (82 kg weight class) will compete for bronze.
