The 25-year-old boxer from Moscow, Arshak Tovmasyan (1-0), secured victory in his professional debut by defeating Uzbek fighter Abduvali Buriboev (11-1) via unanimous decision at the IBA Champions Night tournament, which took place on March 7 in Moscow.
Tovmasyan showcased high-level and entertaining boxing, landing precise punches and demonstrating dominance over his opponent in all six rounds. The fight was held in the under-60 kg weight category.
Previously, Arshak achieved success at the amateur level, becoming the Russian champion in 2023. Now, he is taking his first steps in professional boxing.
In the main event of the evening, Albert Batyrgaziev (12-0) defeated Argentine fighter Neri Romero (18-1) and claimed two championship belts — IBA Pro and WBA Interim. Batyrgaziev won by unanimous decision with scores of 115-109, 114-110, and 116-108.
