A new trend is emerging in Armenian football: all clubs representing the country in European competitions are now stepping onto the pitch wearing shirts with the Armenian flag displayed on their chest.
The first to showcase this innovation were the players of FC Noah, who have already worn the new kit and claimed a victory in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. Today, they will be joined by Pyunik and Urartu, who will also wear shirts featuring the Armenian tricolor in their UEFA Conference League matches.
In two weeks, Ararat-Armenia will carry on the patriotic kit tradition as they begin their Conference League campaign from the second qualifying round. So far, their new shirt has not yet been revealed.
According to reports, the initiative comes from the Football Federation of Armenia. The main goal is to emphasize the national identity of the clubs and present Armenia as a united front on the international stage.
