Armenian Grandmasters Begin the Fourth Round of the FIDE World Cup 2025

In the first games of the fourth round of the 2025 FIDE World Chess Cup, Armenian grandmasters demonstrated confident play, finishing their matches with draws.
Gabriel Sargissian (rating 2616) played with the black pieces against American representative Awonder Liang (rating 2701). After a tense battle, the game ended in a draw.
Shant Sargsyan (rating 2664) also achieved a draw while playing black against German grandmaster Frederik Svane (rating 2640).
American chess player of Armenian origin Levon Aronian (rating 2728) claimed a convincing victory with the white pieces over Polish grandmaster Radoslaw Wojtaszek (rating 2660).
Another representative of the Armenian chess school, playing for the USA, Samuel Sevian (rating 2701), drew his game with Italian grandmaster Lorenzo Lodici (rating 2572).
The second games of the fourth round will take place on November 12 at 13:30 Yerevan time. These matches will determine who advances further in the World Cup.
