Armenian Boxers Win 12 Medals at the Irakli Abashidze Tournament in Batumi

From June 25 to 29, the international tournament named after Irakli Abashidze was held in Batumi, Georgia. This was the first international competition for the Armenian national boxing team this year, as well as the first tournament under the World Boxing umbrella with the new weight categories.
Armenian boxers showed excellent results, winning 12 medals, including 5 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze.

Gold medals in their weight categories were won by:
55 kg: Ruslan Aslikyan
60 kg: Artur Saakyan
65 kg: Narek Ovanyan
85 kg: Rafael Ovanyan
90 kg: Narek Manasyan
Silver medals were won by:
60 kg: Zhirayr Sargsyan
65 kg: Artur Shahbazyan
90 kg: David Simonyan
Bronze medals were awarded to:
50 kg: Baregam Arutyunyan
70 kg: Ararat Arutyunyan
80 kg: Hamlet Arutyunyan
+90 kg: Ishkhan Ovsepyan
The tournament was attended by boxers from 11 countries. Armenia and Georgia emerged as leaders in gold medals, each winning five in this category. Turkmenistan and Cyprus also achieved success, with each country earning one gold medal. For the Cypriot team, the victory was brought by Armenian boxer Markoz Kazantsian.
