Armenian boxers compete at two international tournaments in Serbia and Lithuania

The Armenian national boxing team is currently represented at two international tournaments at the same time. Armenian athletes are competing in Serbia and Lithuania, gaining important competitive experience against strong opponents from different countries.
Six Armenian boxers compete at the tournament in Belgrade
One group of Armenian boxers, led by Khachik Khachatryan and Andranik Grigoryan, is taking part in a prestigious international tournament in Belgrade.
The competition in Serbia features representatives of 24 countries. The level of the tournament is quite high: among the participants are world championship winners and medalists, as well as Olympic champions and medalists.
Armenia is represented at the Belgrade tournament by six boxers:
55 kg — Vagharshak Keyan
60 kg — Erik Arstamyan
65 kg — Andranik Martirosyan
65 kg — Argishti Hakobyan
75 kg — Marat Mikayelyan
85 kg — Rafael Hovhannisyan
Another team competes in Kaunas
At the same time, another group of the Armenian national team has traveled to Lithuania. In the city of Kaunas, Armenian boxers are taking part in the international Algirdas Šocikas tournament.
The team is led by Vladimir Markaryan and Garik Baghdasaryan. Boxers from 13 countries are competing in the Lithuanian tournament.

65 kg — Artur Mkrtchyan

80 kg — Alik Hovhannisyan

Important competitions for the Armenian national team
Participation in two international tournaments at once allows the Armenian national team’s coaching staff to test a large group of boxers in real competitive conditions. Such competitions are especially important for young and promising athletes who need to gain experience on the international stage.
The tournaments in Belgrade and Kaunas also give Armenian boxers the opportunity to face representatives of different boxing schools and prepare better for the main competitions of the season.
