Armenian Fighters Shine at UNF 28 Tournament in California

On October 11, in Commerce, California (USA), the UNF 28 fight night took place, featuring several Armenian athletes.
Professional fighter Zhora Sahakyan (4-0) extended his winning streak with an impressive first-round TKO victory over Benji Gomez (9-18), finishing the fight in just over a minute.
In the bantamweight UNF title bout, Narek Avagyan (14-10) was defeated by Gianni Vazquez (13-4-1) via knockout — marking Avagyan’s second loss to the same opponent.
In the amateur segment, Armenian fighters also performed successfully:
Rafael Ktikyan (3-0), Kamo Grigoryan (4-0), Sevak Hakobyan (4-1), and Anthony Vardumyan (2-1) all earned confident victories.
Taron Barseghyan’s bout was declared a no-contest after a doctor stopped the fight due to the athlete’s injury.
