An Armenian from Serbia, Sos Khachatryan (HACATRJAN Sos), won a bronze medal at the European U23 Judo Championships held in Moldova.

Competing in the under 73 kg weight category, Khachatryan — originally from Akhalkalaki — claimed victories over athletes from Moldova, Latvia, and Italy. In the bronze medal match, he defeated a judoka from Hungary.

The decisive bout ended dramatically, as the Armenian secured the winning point in the final seconds to reach the podium.

The gold medal in this category went to Ioan Dzitac from Romania, the silver to Mate Beruashvili from Georgia, and the second bronze to Otari Kvantidze, representing Portugal.

It should be noted that earlier in the same tournament, Armenian judoka Vage Aghasyan became the European U23 Champion in the under 60 kg category.
