Armenia Wins Three Medals at the U15 European Freestyle Wrestling Championships: Full Tournament Results

The 2026 U15 European Freestyle Wrestling Championships came to an end on May 24 in Samokov. Team Armenia competed at the tournament with a full squad of 10 wrestlers and won three medals: one gold and two bronze.
The main success for the Armenian team came from Shahen Martirosyan in the 68 kg weight category. In the final, the Armenian wrestler defeated Turkey’s Saruhan Karaoglu and became European champion.
Bronze medals for Team Armenia were won by Tigran Aghajanyan in the 41 kg category and Atom Yesayan in the 57 kg category.
As a result of the tournament, Armenia finished fourth in the team standings with 99 points.
Russia took first place with 167 points. Russian wrestlers won four gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Georgia finished second with 165 points, only two points behind the winner of the team standings. The Georgian team claimed four silver and five bronze medals. Azerbaijan finished third with 122 points.
