The Armenian national team will take part in the 2026 World Figure Skating Championships for seniors, which will be held from March 24 to 29, 2026, in Prague.
Armenia will be represented in two disciplines — men’s singles and pair skating.
In men’s singles, the country will be represented by 19-year-old Semen Daniliants. His short program will be performed to music from songs by Armenian composer and performer Arthur Meschian.
In pair skating, Olympic participants Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin will take to the ice. Their short program is once again set to the composition “Artsakh” by Armenian composer Ara Gevorgyan.
Earlier, the Armenian team in the same lineup missed the 2026 European Figure Skating Championships due to visa issues. Hopefully, similar difficulties will not arise this time.
It is also known that the reigning Olympic champions will not compete at the tournament — both in men’s singles (Mikhail Shaidorov, Kazakhstan) and in pairs (Miura / Kihara, Japan). However, the silver and bronze Olympic medalists will participate in the World Championships.
Russian figure skaters are still not allowed to compete in international competitions, although they were able to perform at the Olympic Games.
