The Armenia U17 national team played their first match of the second round of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers, drawing 2–2 against Luxembourg U17.
The Armenian side had a poor start and was trailing 0–2 by halftime. However, after the break, Alexander Petrosyan’s team took full control of the game and showed a completely different level of football.
In the second half, Armenia managed to equalize within three minutes: in the 63rd minute, Arsen Arakalyan from Urartu scored, and in the 66th minute, Andranik Yervandyan of Pyunik leveled the score.
After that, Armenia looked closer to securing a win. One of the most dangerous moments came in the 78th minute when Yervandyan led a fast attack that ended with a shot hitting the post.
Armenia will play their next match on April 25 against Hungary U17, who convincingly defeated Liechtenstein U17 4–0 in the first round.
It should be noted that all Group 5 matches are being held in Yerevan.
