Armenia announces squad for the Youth World Weightlifting Championships
Armenia’s youth weightlifting teams will compete at the World Championships, which will take place from May 2 to 8 in Ismailia, Egypt. A total of ten athletes have been included in the men’s and women’s squads, representing the country in various weight categories.
According to the press service of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation, the national team aims to deliver a достойное performance and compete for top positions on the international stage.
The men’s team includes: Artush Grigoryan (65 kg), Narek Grigoryan and Hovhannes Hovhannisyan (both 71 kg), Narek Mkrtchyan (79 kg), Valerik Movsisyan (94 kg), Grigor Ghazaryan (110 kg), as well as Gagik Mkrtchyan (over 110 kg).
The women’s team will be represented by: Meri Misakyan (69 kg), Anna Amroyan (77 kg), and Emma Poghosyan (86 kg).
The tournament in Ismailia will bring together the world’s strongest young weightlifters, and for Armenian athletes it will be an important stage in their careers, as well as an opportunity to make a name for themselves internationally.
