The Armenian national ice hockey team wrapped up the Division IV World Championship on home ice with a dominant 14-1 victory over Indonesia. However, even such a resounding win wasn’t enough to claim the top spot in the group. A single overtime loss to Kuwait (4-5) ultimately cost Armenia first place.
Armenia began the tournament in style, crushing Malaysia 24-3, edging Uzbekistan in a shootout (3-2), and shutting out Iran (8-0). But the overtime defeat to Kuwait meant the team finished with 12 points—one less than Uzbekistan, who won all their matches in regulation and topped the group with 13 points, earning promotion to Division IIIB.
