Armenian Cup: Syunik and Ararat-Araks secure spots in the Round of 16

In the preliminary stage of the Armenian Cup, two more teams earned their places in the Round of 16.

In Kapan, Syunik defeated Hayk 3-1. The visitors took an early lead with Erik Azizyan’s penalty. The hosts fought back confidently: Joachim Amiyekore equalized, and in the second half, Alen Karapetyan converted another penalty to put the team ahead. In stoppage time, Armen Hovhannisyan sealed the victory with a third goal.

The other match in Charentsavan saw a dramatic clash between Ararat-Araks and Lernayin Artsakh. During regular time, the sides exchanged goals: Vladimir Zakaryan opened the scoring, while Rumyan Hovsepyan leveled it. No goals were scored in extra time, and the game was decided by a penalty shootout. In a tense series, Ararat-Araks prevailed 7-6 and advanced to the next stage.

Thus, Syunik and Ararat-Araks joined the teams that have already secured their spots in the Armenian Cup Round of 16.
