Unfortunately, Arman Tsarukyan has withdrawn from the UFC 311 title fight against Islam Makhachev due to a back injury sustained while cutting the last kilogram before weigh-ins.
"With great regret, I inform you that the news about my withdrawal from the fight due to a back injury is true. This was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my fighting career. I want to thank the UFC for their support and look forward to my first title fight in the future. Thank you all for your support," wrote Arman Tsarukyan’s brother.
Nevertheless, Islam Makhachev will still compete at UFC 311. In place of Tsarukyan, Brazilian Renato Moicano, who was on standby, will fight for the championship title.
It’s worth noting that Moicano himself had previously withdrawn from a fight against Tsarukyan in April 2023, but now he gets his chance.
