UFC lightweight division’s No.1 ranked fighter Arman Tsarukyan made a successful debut in freestyle wrestling. At the RAF 5 tournament, held on January 11 in Sunrise, Florida (USA), the Armenian athlete earned a dominant early victory over Lance Palmer.
The match ended in under two minutes, with Tsarukyan completely dominating his opponent and winning by a decisive 10:0 score.
This marked Arman Tsarukyan’s first appearance at an official freestyle wrestling tournament. Despite competing in a new format, he demonstrated a high level of preparation and wrestling skill.
His opponent, Lance Palmer, is a well-known American athlete and former PFL champion with an MMA record of 23 wins and 8 losses. In addition to his mixed martial arts career, Palmer has a strong wrestling background — he was an NCAA medalist and has competed in numerous wrestling tournaments.
