Arman Andreasyan stopped one step away from a medal at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships

Armenian freestyle wrestler Arman Andreasyan (70 kg) finished in 5th place at the World Freestyle Wrestling Championships held in Zagreb.
Andreasyan started the tournament confidently, securing three consecutive victories:

In the 1/16 finals, he defeated Tajikistan’s Viktor Rassadin,

In the 1/8 finals, he beat Serbia’s Viktor Voinovich (4:1),

In the quarterfinals, he overcame Azerbaijan’s Kanan Kheibatov in a close battle (8:6).
In the semifinals, the Armenian wrestler lost to Japan’s Yoshinosuke Aoyagi (0:8), and in the bronze medal match he was defeated by Kyrgyzstan’s Ernazar Akmataliev — 2:8.
Thus, Arman Andreasyan finished the World Championships in fifth place, confirming his high wrestling level but remaining without a medal.
