In the 22nd round of the Armenian Premier League, Ararat-Armenia secured a confident 4–0 away victory over Shirak.
The main hero of the match was Armenia national team forward Araik Eloyan, who scored a brace. The striker ended his goal drought that had lasted since December last year — coincidentally, he had also scored against Shirak in that match. Eloyan now has 6 goals and 2 assists this season.
Late in the game, the visitors extended the scoreline, with Juan Balanta and Zhirayr Shagoyan getting on the scoresheet.
Following this win, Ararat-Armenia moved to the top of the standings as sole leaders.
Armenian Premier League standings after Round 22:
- Ararat-Armenia — 45 points (21 matches)
- Alashkert — 42 (22)
- Urartu — 42 (21)
- Noah — 41 (20)
- Pyunik — 41 (20)
The team is confidently moving toward the championship title, increasing pressure on their closest rivals.
