Ararat-Armenia thrashes BKMA and secures second place

In Matchday 31 of the Armenian Premier League, Ararat-Armenia confidently defeated Yerevan-based BKMA at home, recording a resounding 4-0 victory.
The scoring was opened by Jonathan Duarte in the 21st minute — the Colombian forward was in the right place at the right time and tapped in a low cross into the empty net. Just three minutes later, in the 24th minute, Jirair Shaghoyan doubled the hosts’ lead with a brilliant individual effort, beating his defender one-on-one and striking accurately into the near corner after a fine pass from Hovhannes Harutyunyan.
After the break, Duarte made his presence known again — in the 52nd minute, he scored his second of the game with a powerful long-range shot into the top corner, making it 3-0. The final goal came in stoppage time (94th minute), when Nigerian forward Tenton Yenne added his name to the scoresheet.
This victory allowed Ararat-Armenia to hold on to second place in the league table with 63 points. Finishing second will grant the team a spot in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League, although Urartu is also competing for that place.
The next matches for these teams will take place next week: on May 22, BKMA will host Alashkert, while on May 24, Ararat-Armenia will visit already-crowned champions Noah.
