Yerevan’s Ararat-Armenia secured a narrow victory over Shirak in the first leg of the Armenian Cup quarterfinal.

The only goal of the match was scored by the team’s newcomer Alioune Ndour, for whom this game became the first official appearance for the Yerevan club. The Senegalese forward found the net in the final minutes of the first half, finishing a cross from Kamo Hovhannisyan.

The 28-year-old Ndour recently joined Ararat-Armenia from Belgian side Zulte Waregem. The parties signed a contract running until 2028.

The goal proved to be the only one in the match and secured a 1–0 victory for Ararat-Armenia.

The return leg between the teams will take place in Gyumri. The exact date of the match has not yet been announced.
