In the second round match of the Russian Youth League, Krasnodar U19 secured an entertaining 5–3 victory over Rostov U19.
One of the main heroes of the match was Krasnodar forward Daniel Ambartsumov. The player recorded a double in goals and assists, finishing the game with 2 goals and 2 assists (2+2). Notably, Ambartsumov has now produced a scoring contribution in his second consecutive match.
Another Armenian footballer also made an impact for Rostov U19 — David Batoyan, who provided an assist.
Both players could soon travel to Turkey with the Armenia U19 national team, which will compete in the UEFA EURO U19 qualification (League B division). Batoyan’s participation is almost confirmed as he is the team captain, while the final decision regarding Ambartsumov’s call-up has not yet been announced.
Armenia U19 will face Turkey (hosts), Kosovo and Gibraltar in the group stage. The matches will take place from March 24 to March 30.
